James Joseph Jim Harbaugh is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the head coach for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played his college football at the University of Michigan and was an NFL quarterback from 1987 to 2000. He has been a football coach since 2004 and first served as a head coach in 2004 for the University of San Diego. After coaching Stanford football from 2007 to 2010 he became the 49ers head coach in 2011.
