Taylor was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 11th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft and was drafted in the 1999 Rule 5 Draft by the Seattle Mariners. He made his debut for the Mariners on September 9 2002 but gave up 4 earned runs in only 1 inning. He made his final appearance on October 2 2004.
